HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An ongoing investigation into two Honolulu Police Department DUI supervisors is already resulting in cases being thrown out of court. In an exclusive report last week, Hawaii News Now confirmed that the two employees were allegedly filing false reports, so that they could ultimately collect overtime.
That has led to an internal affairs investigation a criminal probe into the incident. The prosecutor's office told us so far, at least a dozen drunken driving cases have been dismissed. Those cases could still be re-filed at a later date. The officers involved have 19 and 16 years on force.
