HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Thursday the public will be able to pay their respects to a legal pioneer in Hawaii. Former Hawaii Supreme Court Chief Justice William S Richardson died June 21 at the age of 90.

He will lie in state Thursday at the University of Hawaii Law School that bears his name. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM in the moot courtroom and end at 7:00 PM.
On Friday, his funeral moves to Saint Andrews Cathedral, where visitation will begin at 8:00 AM. The service itself starts at 11:30 and will be followed by a private burial.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to the "William S. Richardson – Realizing the Dream Fund" at the Law School or online at www.uhf.hawaii.edu/wsr-realizingthedream.

To accommodate the expected large number of visitors throughout the day, all visitors will be directed to park in the zone 20 parking structure, with entry by turning off Dole Street onto Lower Campus Road. There will be a special lane for those attending the visitation, free of charge.

The zone 17 parking lot next to the Law School will be restricted Thursday for family, VIPs, media, security personnel, and for handicapped parking. All Zone 17 permit holders are asked to park in the other zone 17 lot, fronting the Music Building on Thursday.
