KANEOHE (HawaiiNewsNow) – Power has been restored to 800 Hawaiian Electric customers in the Aikahi area after they spent several hours with no electricity Tuesday. Power lines were reported down at the intersection of Kaneohe Bay Drive and Ilihau Street around 9:20 AM Tuesday.
Police closed Kaneohe Bay Drive as crews worked to restore power and fix the downed lines. Hawaiian Electric says that the outage occurred after a flashover, which is when two lines cross over each other.
