HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Kauai teen smoked the competition at an amateur surf event in Southern California. The NSSA Nationals were held in Huntington Beach over the weekend.
17-year-old Kaimana Jaquias of Kauai jumped out to an early lead in the 30 minute finals match. Jaquias scored an 8.25 out of 10 to win the Mens Open Title.
Jaquias goes in the history books along side his father, Kaipo Jaquias, who won the 1987 Open Juniors Championship.
This is the first NSSA National Title for the Jaquias.
