BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - Big Island residents have their power back on after a brief outage Saturday night. Hawaii Electric Light Company officials say generators tripped off-line, forcing officials to turn off power to protect the rest of the system. About 63,000 residents lost power at 8:37 p.m. All customers were restored at 9:37 p.m. It is not known what caused the generators to trip. An investigation is ongoing.
