NUUANU PALI (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Pali Highway was closed in both directions Monday for over two hours after a truck fire. Just after noon, a Gas Company truck caught fire between the two tunnels on the Honolulu-bound lanes.
The fire in the utility truck started in the engine, moved to the passenger compartment and then on to the trucks tires. The proximity of the tire fire to a 50-gallon propane tank was a concern for firefighters.
The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported. Officials say that no propane was released in the incident.
