Big Island siblings facing charges after marijuana plants found

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) – A Waikoloa brother and sister are facing drug charges after police discovered marijuana and marijuana plants at a home on Hooko Place. 32-year-old Victor Sanchez III and 34-year-old Nicolasa Sanchez were arrested Wednesday. Another woman was also arrested at the scene, but was released without charges Wednesday night.

Police discovered 20 marijuana plants and over three pounds of dried marijuana at the residence after executing a search warrant. $330 in cash was also seized.

Nicolasa Sanchez was charged with one count of promoting a detrimental drug and was released on her own recognizance. Victor Sanchez III was charged with one count each of commercial promotion of marijuana, promoting a detrimental drug and possessing drug paraphernalia. He was released after posting $7,250 bail.
