HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A 45-year-old Honolulu man died late Tuesday evening after jumping into the ocean near Spitting Caves off Portlock. Fire officials say that Glenn Cooke jumped from approximately 50-60 feet above the water around 7:00 PM and did not resurface.
Friends called for help when they were unable to locate Cooke. Rescue crews using mask and snorkel found him at a depth of about 30 feet and brought him to the surface. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he died shortly afterward.
The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause of death.
