HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu police have arrested a man they suspect robbed a Waikiki bank last month. 25-year-old Edward John Cimafranca was taken into custody Monday afternoon on suspicion of robbery in the first degree.
Investigators say Cimafranca, who goes by the name "John John" entered the First Hawaiian Bank on Kalakaua Avenue late on the afternoon of June 12. He then allegedly passed a note to a teller demanding money, the teller complied and he fled the scene.
Police thanked the public for providing tips that led to Cimafranca's arrest.
