HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Fire officials say that a fire that broke out near the airport Thursday night was intentionally set. Occupants of a nightclub next door to the Lagoon Drive Chinese Restaurant reported the fire at 8:40 PM. The restaurant was closed at the time and no one was injured in the fire, which crews quickly extinguished.
The blaze, which was confined to a corner of the kitchen, caused an estimated $200,000 in damage. The case has been turned over to state investigators as the restaurant occupies state-owned land.
