HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - When was the last time you went to Bishop Museum? Well today there is no excuse. It's Kamehameha Day and Bishop Museum is free to all military and kamaaina. So make sure you bring your local ID. The museum says it's a big "aloha" to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs and Hawaiian Airlines sponsorships of its exhibits. The museum hours today are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Now to a real "fleecing of America" on Capitol Hill. Two goats, named Arthur and Lancelot, posed for pictures with congressmen. They are trying to draw attention to an outdated subsidy for farmers who grow wool for military uniforms. It dates back to the 1800s, and the congressmen say it's a wasteful use of money and should be dropped.
The brand new Consolenergy Center in downtown Pittsburgh is set to open soon. But before the doors can open, volunteers gathered to test the plumbing and flush all 400 toilets inside the arena. And good thing they did, because a few leaks were discovered which will naturally be fixed before games are played there this fall.
