HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaiian Airline officials say a pilot had to shut off one of his engines on a flight from Honolulu to Maui. Flight 126 made an emergency landing back at the Honolulu airport around noon Thursday.
The airline says the engine had some sort of problem with its compressor and the tower thought they could see smoke. Fire trucks surrounded the plane when it landed.117 passengers were deplaned and put on other flights. The plane went back out about an hour later.
