Baseball 'Bows play San Diego in NCAA opener

MESA, ARIZONA (HawaiiNewsNow) - The University of Hawaii baseball team will be staying in Arizona as it transitions from the Western Athletic Conference tournament to the NCAA tournament.

The WAC tournament was held in Mesa.  Hawaii's regional in the NCAA tournament will be played in Tempe.

It is a four team regional.  Hawaii will be joined by Arizona State, the University of San Diego, and the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.

The Rainbows open play Friday morning against the Toreros.  U.H. Beat San Diego 8-6 earlier this year in San Diego.

The Sun Devils are the top ranked team in the regional, and the top ranked team in the nation.  San Diego is the second seed in the regional followed by Hawaii and Milwaukee.
