BRISTOL, CONN. (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii born soccer star Brian Ching was cut from the U.S. men's national soccer team Wednesday.
Coach Bob Bradley trimmed the U.S. World Cup roster from 30 down to the FIFA mandated 23 players.
Ching was a member of the 2006 U.S. World Cup team, but did not play. Now, at age 31, it appears likely his dream of actually playing in a World Cup has been dashed.
Forwards Herculez Gomes, who has scored ten goals this year in the Mexican league, and Edson Buddle, who has played well for the L.A. Galaxy, occupy roster spots that could have gone to Ching.
