HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two men suspected in a violent home invasion in Palolo in which the victims were tied up, assaulted and robbed appeared before a District Court judge Tuesday.

Jordan Artuyo, 18, and Justin Lono, 28, are charged with multiple felony counts, including burglary, kidnapping and firearms offenses. Each suspect remains in custody, unable to post $350,000 bail.

Investigators say four masked men stormed into a house on 10th Avenue Sunday armed with shotguns, a handgun and two knives, assaulted four of the occupants, and demanded drugs and cash. They say the robbers fled with cell phones, a laptop computer and money.

Responding officers launched an aerial and ground search for the suspects. They say Artuyo and Lono hid on the hillside behind the victims' home, but were eventually arrested.

According to a police affidavit, officers scouring the hillside found a backpack that contained "a blue Gateway laptop, two bandanas...a pair of Nike gloves...a black beanie, white rope, and a roll of Suran (sic) Wrap." One of the victims identified the laptop as being his.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively set for Thursday.
