HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Congratulations to the seniors at Island Pacific Academy! These 45 students will be the first graduating class since the school opened six years ago in Kapolei. The ceremony takes place Saturday afternoon. In all, the class received over 100 college acceptance letters and more than $1.4 million dollars in scholarships and financial aid.
Police in South Carolina say a grandmother was arrested this week when they stopped her for speeding at over 100 mph on the highway. The good thing is police say 72-year-old Sandra Powell was very contrite about her actions and readily admitted that she was wrong, even thanking police for stopping her before she got into an accident. She told the officer she was late for a hair appointment.
Check this out...a young hockey fan won a chance to introduce the Montreal Canadiens before their home playoff game. And to get the crowd pumped, he lit the ice on fire. Using high-tech special effects the whole ice rink seems to catch fire with the young hokey fan right in the middle. And it worked as the Canadiens came out and torched the Philadelphia Philly's five to one.
