HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – New details emerged Thursday about an alleged kidnapping last weekend. 19-year old Bladesin Bailey and 18-year old Andrew Rodriguez were indicted by a grand jury and will face one count each of kidnapping and assault. Police say they beat a 17-year-old boy before handcuffing him and shoving him into the trunk of a car Saturday morning.

Prosecutors testified that the victim was smoking a cigarette outside his home when Bailey and Rodriguez drove up. The victim willingly got into the car and was driven to Waiau District Park. The suspects then punched the boy in the face, handcuffed him and threw him into the trunk of their car.

According to testimony he was then driven to a trailhead where the suspects put a bag over his head and continued to punch him. They then took the bag off, but left the handcuffs on.

Police found the victim running down Moanalua Valley Road in handcuffs. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated for a broken nose.

The victim called 911 while he was in the trunk and also texted his mother. Police used cell phone pinging technology to locate the suspect's car. Bailey and Rodriguez were arrested near Radford High School. Both suspects remain in custody at OCCC.
