KAILUA-KONA (HawaiiNewsNow) -  A 28-year-old Kailua-Kona man is in police custody Tuesday after being arrested for several offenses. On Sunday police received two calls from residents in the Kailua View Estates neighborhood. The first was a complaint of an unknown man sleeping in a laundry room, the second involved an unknown man entering a house.

At the second residence police found and arrested Darren Kamu Grace. He was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a dwelling, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, burglary, promoting a dangerous drug and possessing drug paraphernalia. After further investigation Grace was also arrested for criminal tampering and use of personal information.

Late Monday, Grace was charged with all of the offenses. He remains under investigation for second-degree theft said to be unrelated to the Saturday arrest, but has not yet been charged for that offense.

He remains in jail pending his initial court appearance. His bail was set at $18,000.
