MANOA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Gib Arnold has revamped the roster in the nearly two months since he was hired to head the University of Hawaii basketball program.
Monday UH announced yet another recruit had signed with the Rainbows.
Anthony Salter is a 5' 11" junior college transfer from Iowa Western Community College.
Rivals.com rated Salter as the third best junior college player in the country.
As a freshman at Iowa Western, Salter averaged 15.4 points and dished out a team high 118 assists (3.8 apg) while shooting 48 percent from the field.
As a sophomore, he was selected as a tri-captain and led Iowa Western in scoring (12.6 ppg), assists (2.8), steals (35), free throws made (86) and free throw percentage (.777). The team finished with a 22-8 record and made a regional semifinal appearance.
"He has great speed and quickness-something you can't teach-and the ability to create his own shot and shots for others. His ability to score gives us the ability to play two point guards on the floor at one time," Arnold said of Salter.
