HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A local sushi restaurant in San Diego celebrated 29 years in service by having a sushi eating contest. Men and women battled to see who could eat 29 pieces of sushi the fastest. In the finals there was no time limit, just who could eat the most, which for the men was 93 pieces! Each winner got a $290 gift certificate and title King and Queen of Sushi of Pacific Beach.

One woman proved that it's never too late to earn your college degree. Hazel Soares who is 94 years young. She was among 500 graduates at Saturday's commencement at Mills College in Oakland, California. Soares is believed to be the world's second oldest person to graduate from college. She graduated with a major in art history and hopes to work as a docent at a local museum.

What would you do for a free diamond ring worth thousands of dollars? Well six brides-to-be tore into a six-foot wedding cake over the weekend to find a free diamond ring. The ladies took no time getting down and dirty searching for the ring. The winner who found the ring got to keep it plus thousands of dollars worth in prizes, including wedding photos and cosmetic surgery.
