LAS CRUCES, NEW MEXICO (HawaiiNewsNow) - The U.H. Rainbow Wahine softball team tied the NCAA single season home run record while beating San Jose State 16-8 at the Western Athletic Conference tournament Thursday.

Melissa Gonzalez went deep twice for Hawaii.  Kanani Puu-Warren, Kelly Majam, Katie Grimes, and Alexandra Aquirre each had one home run.

Top seeded Hawaii will play second seeded Fresno State Friday at 10 a.m. (HST).  The game will be shown live on K-5.

One more home run and Hawaii will break the record of 134 home runs it currently shares with the University of Arizona.
