City announces locations for Memorial Day camping permits

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The City of Honolulu will begin issuing camping permits for the popular Memorial Day weekend starting Friday May 14. You may apply for a camping permit for a City and County of Honolulu park site at one of the following permit issuing sites from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Applications for a camp site may be made no earlier than two Fridays prior to the camping period requested. If Friday is a holiday, camping reservations will be accepted on the day before the holiday.  

The City reminds campers that in general, camping is allowed five days a week, from 8:00 AM on Friday to 8:00 AM on Wednesday, though some camp sites are only open during weekends.  No camping on is permitted on Wednesdays and Thursdays when the camp sites are closed for maintenance. 

Applicants must apply in person and be at least 18 years old. Each applicant is limited to one permit which allows a maximum of 10 persons, children included, and two family sized tents.
