HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A career crook accused of breaking into actress Amanda Peet's New York penthouse last year was acquitted of the burglary by a Manhattan jury Monday. Jurors took only an hour to clear Henry Santos, explaining afterward that the prosecution's evidence -- a lineup identification by the babysitter to Peet's then-2-year-old daughter -- simply wasn't enough to convict on. Jurors said the lack of evidence left them wondering if prosecutors had simply tried to make whatever case they could in order to solve a celebrity break-in.
Jesse James and his mistresses isn't driving Sandra Bullock out of her home in Hollywood, nor is she retiring from movie-making, according to one of her closest friends, George Lopez. When asked whether Sandra would quit moviemaking as was reported last week, Lopez laughed and said, "Are you kidding me! I think Sandra is working on movies now. She'll be taking our money for years to come."
