(HawaiiNewsNow) - At 114 years old Eugene Blanchard has been named the world's oldest woman and person. Blanchard lives in a retirement home in the Caribbean and she was born on February 16, 1896. Despite her advancing years she still enjoyed a glass of champagne on her birthday.
The New York City Council honored officer Wayne Rhatigan with a proclamation. They're thanking him for his work in responding to the recent Times Square bomb scare incident. Officer Rhatigan began evacuating Times Square after an SUV rigged with a bomb was seen parked with the engine running and with smoke filling the windows.
And to commemorate its 89th anniversary, White Castle is selling candles that smell just like its signature burgers. All proceeds from the candle sale go to Autism Speaks. The candles will stay on sale through the end of May in honor of National Hamburger Month.
