HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A woman accused of stealing $45,000 from the credit union she worked at was indicted by an Oahu grand jury on multiple counts Thursday. Tenille Afemata-Marasco is charged with first-degree theft, money laundering, and use of a computer in the commission of a separate crime.

Afemata-Marasco was an assistant manager at the Kahuku Federal Credit Union. Prosecutors say between August 16, 2007 and August 29, 2008, she embezzled money from her workplace, opened up savings accounts, and withdrew funds until each account had a negative balance.

The suspect reportedly has no prior criminal record.
