HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - More than 200 people from Hawaii are in France today to take delivery on the A-300-200 in a Hawaiian ceremony tomorrow at the Airbus Assembly Line in Toulouse. The jet will be flown from Toulouse to Hawaii over the course of Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and a public unveiling will take place on the tarmac at Honolulu International Airport on Monday.

American Airlines has delayed the launch of its Beijing-to-Chicago flights until May 4th. This is the third time the service has been postponed. American says it has not been assigned commercially-viable times for its flights to take off and land. Its announcement is exceedingly polite. But it also says until it gets viable slots it will not provide the service.

April arrivals by air so far are down three percent from last year. Japanese arrivals, which were up 11 percent last month, are now down two percent, though golden week starts in a couple days and may help. Mainland traffic is down to Oahu and Kauai, up to Maui and the Big Island.

Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties is trying something new. It has rented an office on west Oahu at the Kunia Shopping Center. No employees will actually be based there. The office will be a resource for agents in the field when they're working with clients on the Leeward side.
