HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - UPDATE: Police arrested Jason Drummondo April 27 on University Avenue in Honolulu. He was arrested on a $20,000 probation revocation warrant.

On October 26, 2007 a police officer spotted two vehicles in the intersection of Vineyard Boulevard and Maunakea Street. The drivers were arguing over a traffic incident, so he asked them to pull over to settle the dispute.

"The vehicles pulled over. The driver that was driving the Toyota MR2 parked the vehicle and started to run. The officer ran the plates of the vehicle and found out that it had been stolen" said Sgt. Kim Buffett of Crimestoppers.

The Toyota had been stolen from Ala Lilikoi Street in Salt Lake a day earlier.

"The registered owner picked up the vehicle the next morning and found a backpack containing the identification card of Drummondo."

Authorities later tracked Jason Drummondo down at Oahu Community Correctional Center  (OCCC) where he was in custody after being busted for theft. Officers then arrested him for the latest auto theft.

"He has 15 prior convictions and they're for burglaries, thefts, auto thefts, trespassing, numerous traffic violations" said Buffett.
