MANOA (HawaiiNewsNow) -
The University of Hawaii football team is half way through spring practice, which means coaches are getting a better idea of what the depth chart will look like. Coach Greg McMackin and his staff have had two weeks to watch which players are rising to the top on both sides of the ball.
UH has a total of 15 practice days during spring ball. Wednesday morning's practice marks the mid-way point. After a very productive scrimmage on Kauai, the coaches are ready to decide who will go where on that chart.
"I've been pleased with a lot of players -- with all the practices and the scrimmage. All the coaches have looked at it. Wednesday is when we will have a better idea. We are evaluating what we have and decide on the ones and twos because that's what we have to get to," says Coach McMackin.
With quarterback Bryant Moniz out indefinitely because of personal reasons, Junior quarterback Shane Austin has been getting most of the first team reps at practice.
