Alaska Airlines adds Honolulu-Portland route

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Alaska Airlines announced Tuesday that it will add another daily flight between Portland, Oregon and the Hawaiian Islands. Beginning September 20, Alaska Airlines will begin non-stop service from Portland to Honolulu. The airline began flying the Portland to Kahului, Maui route in August of 2009.

"With its beautiful beaches, historic sites and endless sunshine, Honolulu is a great complement to our existing Portland-Maui nonstop service" said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airline's vice president of marketing.

Alaska began flying a Maui to Sacramento route last month. The airline operates out of Honolulu, Kona, Kahului and Lihue airports in the state of Hawaii. They offer flights to Seattle, Anchorage, Portland, Oakland, San Jose and Sacramento from Hawaii cities.
