Waste water spill in Aiea

AIEA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Warnings signs are up along Aiea Stream, because of a waste water spill into the water. The Clean Water Branch says about 2,800 gallons overflowed from a private clean out on Aiea Heights Drive. It was caused, when roots of a tree clogged an eight-inch city line, forcing the waste water to back up.

Water samples are being collected.

The warning signs are posted from McGrew Point to Rainbow Bay Marina. People are being asked to stay out of Aiea Bay.
