Wanted Wednesday UPDATE: Robert 'Michael' Cummings arrested

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - UPDATE: Tips from the public led to arrest of Robert Cummings. He was arrested on June 10 for three warrants totaling $90,000.

On October 20, 2005, a Waimanalo woman and her daughter spotted a man getting out of her son's vehicle which was parked the in the driveway of their home on Nenue Street.

"She followed the male and neighbors were able to detain him and hold him until police arrived" said Sgt. Kim Buffett of CrimeStoppers.

Police arrested Robert Cummings for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.

"While being arrested they found drugs and drug paraphernalia, so he was subsequently arrested for both."

A year later police responded to a report of a man breaking into a vehicle at Windward Shopping Center.

"The male fled in a vehicle. The description was given by the witness and he was located at Aumoku Street and Kaneohe Bay Drive. The owner of the vehicle arrived at the scene and identified her items in the vehicle."

Cummings was arrested again. Then in September 2009, a Kapolei woman found her home on Kaiaulu Street had been burglarized.

"Fingerprints were recovered from the scene, they came back positively identifying Robert Cummings as a suspect" said Buffett.

"He has is 13 prior convictions, and his convictions are for burglary, theft from auto, and probation revocation."
