Hawaii tourism marketers are flying to Shanghai this week. They're bound for the incentive travel and conventions meetings China travel show. It's Wednesday through Friday. Thousands of meeting planners will be there.
Hawaii got 661,000 arrivals by air in March, up almost seven percent from last year. Japanese traffic was up 11 percent and other foreign arrivals were up 17 percent. Mainland arrivals were up five percent.
New this morning, CB Richard Ellis reports Oahu industrial vacancy rates over four percent, an eight-year high, and asking rents down almost to a dollar a square foot, down almost a third in less than two years.
Maui Land & Pineapple says the New York stock exchange has accepted a plan for its continued listing. Companies listed on the big board are supposed to have shares collectively worth at least fifty million.
To close with a Big Island item, HMSA and Kona Community Hospital have a financial deal with the state that appears to advance the goal of getting a mobile medical van.
