MANOA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Entering Sunday, it had been two weeks since the Baseball 'Bows captured a series. Sunday afternoon they broke that trend, but they needed the 11th hour to do so.
In the bottom of the 8th, UH trailed Gonzaga 4-1 when Kolten Wong went up to bat with two men on base. Wong would then send the ball on a one-way ticket to souvenir city. The Kamehameha graduate had two hits and four RBI.
Wong's second home run of the season ties this game up at four. A of couple batters later, Kevin McDonald drives in Collin Bennett from first base to give UH a 5-4 lead.
Hawaii would add on another run as they get the 6-5 win. Jesse Moore picks up the save. UH is now 16-12 on the season.
