Auto show opens Friday at Hawaii Convention Center

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Car lovers can soon race to a huge auto show in Hawaii. It features everything from electric to luxury vehicles. Several alternative fuel cars will be featured at the Hawaii Convention Center this weekend.

15 luxury vehicles worth roughly $5 million will also be on display. The most expensive one is a Maserati valued at $1.4 million dollars. A Bentley Supersport features flex-fuel technology to reduce CO2 emissions.

"The possibilities are endless at that point. They bring all that stuff down to the other manufacturers eventually and it's just all the technology that goes into the higher end cars eventually trickles down" said Shaun Foley with Motor Trend Auto Shows.

"We're gonna have roughly 300 cars from more than 20 manufacturers on display. The latest fuel efficient hybrids, the newest crossovers, convertibles for the great weather we have going on outside"

The auto show starts Friday at noon and runs through Sunday. Admission is $7 for adults.
