Good Things: March 24

(HawaiiNewsNow) - It's time for some Good Things.

Yesterday we brought you a story of a 98-year-old lady in New Jersey who finally got to fulfill her dream of graduating high school. But 80-year-old Don Monce didn't graduate from high school because he was sent to fight in the Korean War before he could pick up his diploma. Monce made it back, and yesterday finally received his diploma.

It's common for cats to hate water, but one Persian kitty is breaking the rules. Prinny joins her canine friend in the pool during his hydrotherapy sessions for a bad back. Prinny's owner says the feline also takes a dip in the family pool from time to time.

And a suburban Chicago grocery store cashier in need of a kidney transplant is getting a new lease on life from a customer. Over the years Myra de la Vega developed a friendship with customer Dan Coyne. When Coyne learned de la Vega needed a kidney transplant he offered one of his. Yesterday Coyne was honored at the Chicago school where he works. The transplant surgery is scheduled for Friday.
