NUUANU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police say 88-year-old Dorothy Stribling was fatally stabbed at her home on Rosebank Place just after 7am Monday morning.  Police say Stribling was stabbed multiple times in her upper torso and died a short time later at Queens Medical Center.

Her daughter, 61 year old Claudia Warner, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Neighbors in the area are shocked, "the son and the daughters are really nice, but the one that stabbed her we rarely see her...they must have had hard times," says Charlie Kuehu who lives down the block.

Police say Warner was dropped off by her husband at her mother's home a couple of hours before the stabbing. Neighbors say they didn't hear any arguing before police arrived. Sam Stribling, Dorothy's son, who lives in the home with his mother, was in another room during the fatal attack.

Neighbors say Stribling had lived on Rosebank Place for almost 60 years. It's a quiet neighborhood where residents say everyone watches out for one another, but in this case there wasn't much anyone could do, "it's just sad...it's sad for the family to go through that," said Kuehu.
