MANOA (HawaiiNewsNow) - The UH baseball team is having to juggle its starting rotation for this weekend's four games series against Air Force.
Nate Klein has been on the mound in Game 1 of every series so far for Hawaii, but Klein injured his throwing shoulder in last Friday's game against USC.
Coach Mike Trapasso says Klein has inflammation in the shoulder and he'll miss at least two starts, maybe three.
Hawaii's best starter so far, Josh Slaats, missed a start last week with a tender elbow. He may be back this weekend.
"He could possibly throw on Saturday," said head coach Mike Trapasso. "We'll know tomorrow. He threw bullpen yesterday pain-free. That was kind of the benchmark for him. He'll see the doc tomorrow and if doc concurs everything is OK, we'll be able to throw him in and he'll only have missed the one start, so that'll be a positive."
With Slaats questionable and Klein out for sure, Sam Spangler will get the start Friday.
Game time is 6:35 PM at Les Murakami Stadium.
