LAHAINA, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - For the second time in just 24 hours, a pedestrian has been killed on a Maui Highway.
Just after midnight, police say a 28-year-old pedestrian walking on the Honoapiilani Highway collided with a passenger van.
The pedestrian died. The driver of the van was not hurt.
Police closed the highway from Kapunakea St. to Keawe St. for almost four hours.
They are not yet sure if speed, drugs, or alcohol were involved.
At 5:30 Wednesday morning, a 68-year-old was hit by two cars, and killed while crossing Puunene Avenue in Kahului.
