KAHUKU (HawaiiNewsNow) – UPDATE. Matthew Ah Quin was arrested Sunday afternoon in Kahuku.

April 14, 2004. Police say Matthew Ah Quin was seen leaving a home on Naupaka Street in Laie. A neighbor confronted the 30-year-old but couldn't stop him from getting away.

"He was able to get in the white pickup truck and flee on Naupaka Street. Officers in the area saw the vehicle and tried to stop him. He started driving excessively fast and was able to elude police" said Sgt. Kim Buffett of CrimeStoppers.

He abandoned the stolen truck but witnesses helped officers track him down. While investigating the case, police received word a neighbor's home are also been burglarized.

"In the abandoned vehicle that he had dumped were items taken from both burglaries: house items, a skateboard from one house, and miscellaneous items from another house."

Officers arrested Ah Quin for burglary and auto theft. Now he's wanted for two $20,000 warrants for failing to appear at a probation hearing. He's known to frequent the Hauula area.

"He also has 10 prior convictions and therefore burglary, UCPBs, UEMVs, driving without license and probation revocations."
