MANOA (HawaiiNewsNow) - The UH softball team played a double-header against Troy University Wednesday night and Troy came unglued in the first inning of Game 1.
Troy allowed 12 runs in the inning, while committing three errors. They also had four walks, two illegal pitches, two wild pitches and two passed balls. You had to see it to believe it.
The entire bottom half of the inning took 30 minutes to complete. Hawaii lead 12 to 1 after the first inning.
The final score was 19-3 Hawaii. The game ended after just 4 and a half innings because of the mercy rule.
Game 2 was a pitchers duel, with Hawaii coming out on top 2 to 1 in extra innings. Traci Yoshikawa homered for Hawaii. She also had the game-winning sacrifice fly with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 8th.
