RENO, Nevada (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Wahine basketball team faced a gargantuan task at the WAC Tournament Wednesday.

Hawaii played Fresno State, which went 25-5 this season, and entered as the tourney's top seed.

To Reno we go, and the Wahine got off to a hot start.

Keisha Kanekoa hit the first bucket of the game, a three-pointer. Then it's Breanna Arbuckle finding Julita Bungaite for another triple. Unfortunately, those would be her only points of the game. Hawaii with an 8 to 3 lead.

Moments later, it's Kanekoa again driving baseline, hitting the floater. Kanekoa finished with 12 points. Hawaii up by 8.

But that's when Fresno turns it on, finishing the first half on a 45 to 16 run. The Bulldogs go on to win the game 83 to 55.

It's the third time in the past four years Fresno has ended Hawaii's season.

The Wahine finish with a 10-20 record, which coincidentally, is identical to the UH men's record.
