MANOA (HawaiiNewsNow) - The University of Hawai‘i Rainbow baseball team (6-6) defeated The Citadel Bulldogs (7-3) 13-1 at Les Murakami Stadium Saturday. Sam Spangler (1-2) pitched well, allowing one run in 7.0 innings to get the win.

The recent Rainbow home run parade continued as Jeffery Van Doornum and David Freitas both homered in the game. Kolten Wong came up big, going 3-for-3 with a double, a stolen base, two runs and one RBI. Sean Montplaisir went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI, while Collin Bennett was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Wong and Bennett would drive in runs in the fifth to get it to 5-1 before Hawai‘i came up with a big sixth inning to put the game away. Montplaisir and Garcia drove in a run each to start the inning before Freitas' blast, a three-run shot to right, made it 10-1.

UH added three more runs in the seventh to end the game with the final score of 13-1.

The 'Bows next host Southern California for a four-game series from Friday, March 12, to Monday, March 15, at Les Murakami Stadium.
