HONOLULU (Hawaii News Now) - Former Mokulele Airlines executive Bill Boyer is off and running on his next venture. He's invested in Hawaii Eco-Lights, a company that sells LED technology.

The company says its 'Seesmart LED' technology uses ninety percent less electricity than a standard light bulb. And it takes eight compact fluorescent lights to equal the life span of one LED Lamp. They also estimate the state of Hawaii could save between seven to eight million dollars a month by using the LED's in government buildings.

Hawaii Eco-Lights says it has signed up two companies, Napa Friendly Island Auto Parts and Molokai Shores to replace all their lights with LED's.

"We have seen at least a fifty five percent cost savings on our monthly electricity bill." said Ed Wond, owner of Napa Friendly Island Auto Parts in Molokai, in a press release. "While Hawaii Eco-Lights works in conjunction with our solar panels, we have found LED to be much more cost effective for our business."

"Hawaii Eco-Lights offers us a way to save money for our business while helping the environment," said Bob Smith, President of Molokai Shores Condominium complex, said in a press release.
