HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Central Pacific Bank branch is the latest target in a string of bank robberies this year. The alert from police came out just before 9:45 Tuesday morning.
A man in his forties wearing a surgical mask walked into the branch on South Beretania Street. He had a handgun and got away with cash.
Police say he ran mauka toward Kinau Street in a light blue colored windbreaker, white baseball cap and blue jeans. The man is approximately 6'0" tall and weighs between 140 and 180 pounds. He is Caucasian and has brown hair.
This robbery is the latest in a flurry of bank robberies over the past three weeks in which the suspect wore a mask and showed a handgun.
