HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two teams heading in opposite directions met in Manoa Thursday night. Utah State is atop the WAC with a legitimate shot at getting into the NCAA Tournament.
Hawaii, on the other hand, is last in the WAC and riding an 8-game losing streak when this evening's game began.
The Rainbow Dancers were hoping to have something to cheer about. Early on, Hawaii staying right with the Aggies. Hiram Thompson with his second three-pointer of the game. That puts the 'Bows up 16-13.
But you knew Utah State would get it going. In the second half, Pooh Williams buries the three from the corner to put the Aggies up by 12.
A couple minutes later and it's Jared Quayle who dials long-distance. Quayle with three triples in the game and a team high 13 points.
Utah State wins 61-50. Hawaii loses it 9th straight. Next up for the 'Bows is Nevada on Saturday.
