HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii News Now received reports of a phone outage involving AT&T. Circuits were temporarily down. The outage affected some i-phones and AT&T long distance customers in the islands.
"Due to a damaged fiber, customers in Hawaii may be experiencing issues with wireline and wireless voice service. AT&T technicians are currently working to resolve the issue, and we will provide more information as it becomes available. We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers" said Courtney Pendleton, a representative for AT&T.
Reports indicated that the outage was also impacting some Hawaiian Telcom high-speed internet service customers because their network relies on AT&T circuits. The company says the problem has since been fixed.
