Two Lawai men killed in Kauai head-on crash

OMAO, Kauai (HawaiiNewsNow) – Two men are dead after a head-on collision between two trucks Friday morning on Kaumualii Highway near Omao. The accident happened around 10:30 AM.

Police identified the victims as 51-year-old Don Kaneshige and 86-year-old James Denny, both from Lawai. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Police closed down a part of Kaumualii Highway for around four hours while the accident was being investigated, but have since reopened the roadway. There is no word on whether speed, drugs or alcohol are factors in the crash.
