Federal officials expand salami recall

(HawaiiNewsNow) - Federal health officials are expanding a recall on salami. It affects the Rhode Island-based Daniele International brand.

115,000 pounds of its salami products are being recalled because of possible salmonella contamination from crushed red pepper. The company has already recalled more than 1,000,000 pounds of salami coated in black pepper. More than 200 people in 42 states have gotten sick.

Here in Hawaii, the products were distributed to Costco, Sam's Club and Walmart stores.
