HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - UH-Hilo graduate Nick Mason began the final day of the Hawaii Pearl Open one stroke off the lead and through 16-holes, it looked like he would overcome it. That is, until the 17th hole.

That's when Akinori Tani, A a 35-year-old pro from Japan, made a dramatic eagle on the 17th hole to overtake Mason, who made par on the hole.

Tani would par the 18th and hold on for the one stroke win (-12) over Mason (-11) and he did so just one day after he got married. Tani said he would have gotten married on Sunday except he had a premonition he may win.
