HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Police say he tried to steal the same car twice, and even threatened to kill the owner. Now authorities need help catching Pune Luangrath.

May 12, 2009. A 38-year-old Moiliili man found his Honda Civic had been broken into. The vehicle was parked outside his apartment building on Kuilei Street.

"His ignition pulled out, wires removed and stereo missing. Police were called. They dusted for fingerprints and recovered prints that positively matched Luangrath" said Sgt. Kim Buffett of the Honolulu Police Department.

On June 5th, police say Luangrath broke into the same vehicle, which was parked in the building's garage.

"The victim heard his car alarm going off, went out, saw the male in his vehicle, confronted him, tried to detain him, and this time Luangrath threatened to shoot him and  ran off."

Officers arrested him in August for several offenses including terroristic threatening, but he missed a court hearing and is now wanted for a $100,000 felony contempt warrant. The 28-year-old frequents the Waipahu, Ewa and Wahiawa areas.

"He has nine prior convictions and they are for drugs, auto theft, and other threatening cases" said Buffett.

Luangrath is 5'5" and weighs 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and also has several tattoos.

Helping police nab him could earn you a reward of up to $1,000. If you have tips, call Crimestoppers at 955-8300.
